</span><span style="font-style:normal">Required qualifications</span><span style="font-weight:normal;font-style:normal">: PhD in hand at the time of appointment in Applied Linguistics, Spanish, or an equivalent degree;</span><span style="font-weight:normal;font-style:normal">
evidence of excellence in teaching and creative/innovative pedagogies; evidence of research potential;</span>

</span><span style="font-weight:normal;font-style:normal">The department offers a major and MA in Spanish. There will be a 2-2 course load (reduction from 3-3 load) for the administrative duties related to that of Spanish Language Program Director. The successful
candidate will teach at all levels of Spanish curriculum. They will </span><span style="font-weight:normal;font-style:normal">supervise and mentor graduate students and lecturers teaching in the introductory language sequence and develop/choose materials
that contribute to the success of the program</span><span style="font-weight:normal;font-style:normal">. S/he will contribute to improvement and growth of the undergraduate and graduate programs, and participate in departmental and university governance.
</span><span style="font-weight:normal;font-style:normal">To ensure full consideration, candidates will need to complete an application with WSU’s on-line hiring tool, People Admin, wichita.edu/wsujobs, by November 30, 2012, but position remains open until
