below a brief fragment of that site's text that gets to the point. The building
in question took on a variety of functions over the years since the 17th
century, but its original function as a "corral" was only discovered in 1950.
This discovery prompted the excavation and restoration of the corral. Getting to
your question, it seems that its survival prior to that year was fortuitous but
